A Nature Experience...

The Chapel is set in a wooded lot with naturalized species of ferns and flowers.  There is a path that starts at the wooden stairs and continues beyond the Chapel, through the woods and exits at The Caretakers statue.  The building, the sculptures, and the paths are designed to exist as if they always existed and the choice of materials and contruction aim for a natural aesthetic.  The cobblestones for the foundation are from the local quarry.  The St. Francis of Assisi sculpture is carved from a slab of Vermont marble.  And, the Indian was created from a red oak tree that was dragged from the River on artist Carmen D'Avino's hundred acre farm.
